ANUC is turning 30 years old!

On December 14, 1994, the presidents of six unions of art creators and performers signed a document founding an alliance that would have to make a difference in organising and operating a sector of the civil society in Romania committed to arts and culture. Then and today, the six unions are Unions of Architects, Fine Artists` Union, Filmmakers` Union, Union of Music Composers and Critics, Writers` Union, Theatre Union (UNITER).

The scope of the alliance was to create a platform for communication, debate and common action to consolidate and monitor art creators, architects, writers and theatre performers` social and economic rights, to promote their role and impact on artistic and cultural development, on building an exigent audience, on supporting democracy through culture, on cultural diplomacy of the country. 

Good or rough times. ANUC was keen on talking with the political and administrative sector in order to attain the objectives and requirements of the artistic community, to put arts and culture on the public agenda. No false modesty, ANUC now became a model for cooperation and  action among the federative and network organisations.
